My light in Satan’s darkest hour. . .

This last few weeks my heart has been unsure and my soul a bit unsteady.

Isolation. . .

Masks. . . .

Gloves. . .

Fear. . .

Death. . .

“Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise, in the city of our God, his holy mountain.

Beautiful in its loftiness, the joy of the whole earth. . .

There are moments when God doesn’t seem beautiful. He seems scary and daunting.

Why a plague?

Why are people dying?

How will this affect us financially?

How will this affect the world?

"As we have heard, so we have seen in the city of the Lord Almighty, in the city of our God: God makes her secure forever."

I don’t feel secure. . .I feel teary and emotional. I feel lonely and discouraged.

"Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love."

But. . . as a I sit and soak in your Word.

As I sit and let you wipe my tears.

As I sit and pour my heart of insecurity out to you. . .

Your unfailing love embraces my heart and whispers your truth into it.

"Like your name, O God, your praise reaches to the ends of the earth; your right hand is filled with righteousness.

For this God is our God for ever and ever; he will be our guide even to the end.”

There is nothing like your endless love.

There is nothing like your steadfastness.

There is nothing like your compassion.

There is nothing like your Holiness.

There is nothing like your comfort.

There is nothing like the sacrifice of your Son.

There is nothing like the Spirit to guide our hearts into your peace.

“Thou Hidden Source of Calm Response”

Charles Wesley’s Hymm

“Jesus, mine all in all thou art;

My rest in toil, my ease in pain,

The medicine of my broken heart,

In war my peace, in loss my gain,

My smile beneath the tyrant’s frown,

In shame my glory and my crown:

In want my plentiful supply,

In weakness my almighty pow’r,

In bonds my perfect liberty,

My light in Satan’s darkest hour,

My help and stay when’er I call,

My life in death, my heav’n, my all”

Your Son conquered the greatest of all fears –The fear of death into the unknown. So today and in the days to come, we can sit in your peace, praising you in joy, while being captivated in your goodness and held steadfast in your love. You are my all in all.

As you friends, enjoy this special time of year, I will be praying you too find God’s peace and endless love.

What are the challenges you are walking through?
